Microfinance and Marketing

Microfinance is something true to its meaning , became a mantra all over the world. Thanks to the people who have believed in this phenomenon and paved a way for many to look at it with passion. Why do we need Microfinance? I think with this simple microfinance we may try address some the basic issues of Food , shelter and clothing of those who are deprived over the years. Yes the demand is there, and supply is still to catch up in many aspects.
Microfinance per say may not address in totality the alleviation of poverty, one may need to channelise this financial assistance to productive causes and make it move forward to microentreprise and in turn help the beneficiaries of MF to become self reliant.
Today I had the opportunity to interact with some of the Management interns from US, the question we discussed was is Microfinance for profit is good or non profit is good? Answering it in simple terms may be little adventurous in a given moment. But the form in which ever way it is MF should help to come out from the pathetic situation of helpless ness to survive in this world.
I wonder, should the like minded youth join in forming into a team and work on clear cut programmes and bring out a visible change somewhere , if it would help atleast a few in this world.
I also feel the student community raise a fund for a cause on their own and start innovating programmes to help those in need.
Yes these thought could more concrete and built upon if likeminded join me in my effort.
I strongly believe we should help to channelise these MF assistance to Microentreprise of any model where the sustainable income generation could be possible with absolute protection for those not to fall prey to debt trap or commercialising the whole MF mission.
